As part of a city-wide economic reopening, Can Gio, HCMC’s sole beachfront district, prepares to trial a tour from Sept. 30. Can Gio is known as having fresh seafood and eco-tourist attractions that is home of the Can Gio Mangrove Forest, a UNESCO-designated biological reserve. Many traditional craft villages can be found in the district, which spans over 71,300 hectares.

Actual situation in Can Gio

Besides Districts 7 and Cu Chi, Can Gio is one of the three locations in HCMC that has brought the outbreak under control and is planning to restart commercial operations on September 15.

Scheduled to open late September

Based on Ministry of Public Health’s suggestions, the district would consider restarting outdoor entertainment and dining activities on a modest scale of less than 20 persons from Sept. 16 to Oct. 31. The district also plans to open a tour that enables tourists to only visit a limited area. The first visit will take place on September 30, according to Le Minh Dung, Party Secretary of Can Gio District.
